On Sunday, October 29, 2023, the Coverity on Polaris SaaS production systems will be upgraded to Coverity on Polaris version 2023.9.0 during our scheduled maintenance window of 8am to 2pm Eastern Time.
What's new?
Support for the latest Coverity 2023.9.1 with language and compiler updates including:
* Java version 20
* Kotlin version 1.9.0
* Python version 3.11
* PHP 8.0 (see PHP note)
* GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) 13.1
* ECMAScript 13
* Build capture on Apple silicon machines
API Updates:
* V0 and V1 Auth Service APIs are deprecated and will be removed in the next release. It is recommended to update all Auth Service APIs to V2.
Note related to PHP 8.0:
* With Coverity 2023.9.1, support for PHP quality checkers will be removed
* With Coverity 2023.9.1, existing open PHP checkers will be marked as closed upon scan commit and new PHP issues will be opened
* With Coverity 2023.9.1, support for PHP quality checkers will be removed
* With Coverity 2023.9.1, existing open PHP issues will be marked as closed upon scan commit and new PHP issues will be opened
* Customers looking to retain information for existing open PHP issues can do any of the following options: (1) delay upgrading Coverity tool version (2) export open PHP issues for recordkeeping before running a scan on Coverity 2023.9.1 or (3) create a duplicate of the project for new scans in order to retain current open issue records.
Note related Obj C/C++:
* Coverity 2023.9.1 contains a bug related to Obj C/C++ which will impact scan results.
* A fix is scheduled with Coverity 2023.9.2.
* Customers running Obj C/C++ scans should delay updating their tool versions until Coverity 2023.9.2 is available.
